— Dr. Andre Samuel
PITTSBURGH, PA, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Citizen Science Lab (TCSL) will host DreamFest 2026, its annual celebration of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics, on Saturday, September 12, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the organization’s new MLK Center for Scientific Excellence, 636 Herron Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

Sponsored by Howmet Aerospace and FedEx Cares, this free, family-friendly “STEMabration” will welcome youth, families, educators and community partners for an exciting day of hands-on experiments, carnival rides, music, interactive activities, live demonstrations and opportunities to connect with STEM professionals. Approximately 300 youth and family members from Pittsburgh’s Hill District and surrounding communities are expected to participate.

“DreamFest gives young people the freedom to experiment, ask questions and discover that science is something they can understand, enjoy and even pursue as a career,” said Dr. Andre Samuel, founder and CEO of The Citizen Science Lab. “We are thrilled to welcome the community into our new MLK Center for a day that celebrates curiosity, creativity and the unlimited potential of our young people.”

DreamFest is designed to make STEM learning accessible, engaging and fun for participants of all ages. Children will have opportunities to become scientists for the day as they explore real scientific concepts through interactive learning stations, book giveaways, bike raffles, and hands-on science activities. Volunteers and STEM professionals will assist with activities, welcome families and help create memorable moments of discovery throughout the event.

The celebration will also introduce more community members to the MLK Center for Scientific Excellence, TCSL’s new headquarters and community learning facility in Pittsburgh’s Hill District. The Center expands access to high-quality laboratory experiences, specialized equipment, STEM mentors and educational opportunities in a neighborhood where young people have historically had limited access to these resources.
